Both beaches take around an hour to reach and can be combined with a visit to Cape Canaveral. 10) CyprusThe island of Cyprus lies in the eastern mediterranean close to Turkey, Syria and Lebanon. Cyprus benefits from a Mediterranean climate, with long hot summers and relatively mild winters. The capital is Nicosia, and is located in land but the country is an island and is therefore totally surrounded by water. The most popular coastal regions within Cyprus include villas in Paphos, Limassol, Larnaca and Farmagusta.
