Mighty Norwegian.We are in the kingdom who often referred to as the Fjord Norway, which stretches from Jearen in the south to Smla in the north, where the scenery is magnificent and charming fjords cutting in between the mountains.
The world has seen it.
UNESCO included two of the fjords, Geiranger and Nearoeyfjord, in its prestigious list of world cultural and natural heritage in 2005. 437 National Geographic experts has twice named the west Norwegian fjord landscape to be the world's most beautiful destinations, most recently last fall, and also proclaimed the fjords to be the best-preserved World Heritage Site.
The Norwegian western fjord may just be Norway's biggest tourist attraction internationally. Nearly 1,000 cruise ship arrived in the fjords last year, with over one million visitors. Despite a decline due to the financial crisis, the fjord region's hotels, campsites and rental cabins could count nearly seven million overnight stays, of which foreign tourists accounted for one third. It tends to be the most intense during the summer months, half of all overnight stays happens then. In recent years, the number of Norwegians on holiday in the fjords has increased. the Fjord region is hardly less attractive in the summer.

Quick tour: The tour "Norway in a Nutshell" has become a term for a round trip between Oslo and Bergen, where a boat trip on the Sognefjord and Nearoeyfjord between Flam and Gudvangen is combined with railroad travel on the Bergen Railway and the Flm Railway and bus from Gudvangen, Stalheim and Voss.
Expeditions: The company Fjord Tours also organizes a number of other trips that include the fjords, including Stavanger, Hardangerfjord, Sognefjord and Geiranger. The transportation Company Fjord1 has several tourist routes, bus or boat, leading to such places as Nearoey, Fjearland and Geiranger Fjord. Tide has cruises and tourist routes in such places as Lyse fjord and the Hardangerfjord.
By boat or by bus: You can travel on your own with the help of local and regional buses and 100 ferries that ties the region together.
By car: Three of the six roads that have been given the status of National Tourist roads are related to Fjord Norway: Stryn Road, Sognefjell Road and Hardanger. Atlantic Road, Trollstigen-Geiranger, Aurland Mountain, Gaularfjellet, Ryfylke and Jearen are the roads among the candidates for the status.
