There's one thing for sure about a Halloween party that sets it apart from other adult parties
. Costumes! It's a given that your guests should be coming dressed for the occasion. You can do it haphazardly and simply let each guest do their own thing, or you can add some extra spice to it by having a themed party.Here are some ideas for party themes this holiday season:
1. Scary Theme:Everyone has to be something creepy and eerie like a ghoul or a ghost.
2. Fun Theme:Everyone dresses in fun outfits like clowns, cartoon characters, etc.
3. Movie Theme:All the guests will come as characters from a movie. Be it Captain Jack Sparrow from Pirates of the Caribbean or Sheriff Woody from Toy Story, it's all about movies. The most popular movie theme this year is Alice in Wonderland.
4. Specific Story Theme:Your guests could dress as any character from a movie or book - Alice in Wonderland, the Mad Hatter, Buzz Lightyear or even Winnie the Pooh. Star Wars, Titanic, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings... You name it.
5. Headwear:This one is for those stoic groups who aren't as likely to let their hair down, so to speak. Everyone has to wear something on their head. It can be as simple as a cowboy hat, or as wild as a monster mask, faces from the rock group Kiss or an astronaut's helmet, but everyone must have something on his or her head other than hair.
6. Sexy Theme:Sometimes sexy costumes are just the thing. There are plenty of costumes out there along these themes, or you can make your own.
7. Era Theme: Have everyone dress from the same era. It could be flappers from the 20s, poodle skirts from the 50s, hippies from the 60s or disco looks from the 70s. Or any other era that captures your imagination. This is a fun theme.
8. Super Heroes Theme: This will be one mighty powerful party! Superman and Supergirl might enjoy getting together. Batman and Spiderman might share their stories, and Wonderwoman, Ironman and Wolverine could get to know each over a drink.
9. Cleopatra Theme: Where women are in gorgeous Cleopatra gowns and jewels, and men are strong as Marc Antony or Julius Caesar.
10. Star Trek Theme: Cool for everyone - especially Trekkies! Beam me up Scottie - dressed as guests' favorite crew members, Klingons and others.
11. Renaissance Theme: Renaissance is always lots of lusty fun, with great costumes for men and women. You could try to talk in Olde English, too!
