1. Thou shall have a unique and professional web site with your own domain name.

Your web site will be the bedrock of your success online. It should look different just like you are different from billions of people living on planet earth. Perception is crucial online as it is offline. Would you buy from a well-arranged easily inviting shop or from a disorganized crappy outfit?

I bet you get the picture.

2. Thou shall have a product you control.

You may prefer to resell or market affiliate programs. Ensure they are the strongest companies and affiliate programs you can rely on long-term. However the best long-term strategy is to develop your own products. Trust me it is not difficult.

3. Thou shall accept secure payments via credit card at your web site.

The best solution is to have a merchant account of your own but this is too costly for beginners. So have paypal, and major credit cards like Visa and Mastercard accepted on your site. It costs just about $50 one time fee to facilitate this.

10. Thou shall have a marketing strategy that includes free promotion and paid advertising.

Your website needs traffic just like your body needs water. So get to know what form of advertising works best for your business. It can't always be free traffic. You will be throttling you growth if your entirely depend on free traffic generation tactics.
