An in-built drainage and irrigation system and a natural grass surface using modular systems are other prominent features of this stadium whose pitch consist on top of 7412 pallets which are removed during concerts and non-sporting events.
A marvel of modern day engineering the arena houses a 3 tier seating style, except for the North Stand which only has 2 tiers. The lowest tier accommodates 23,500 spectators; the central tier holds 18,000 while the highest tier can hold up to 33,000 people.
Based around four 296 feet masts and home to 128 hospitality cubicles, the stadium also houses seven restaurants, over 20 bars, seventeen first aid locales, 12 escalators and 7 elevators. All of the pubs in the arena have beer squirting "joy machines" that pours 12 pints of bubbly beer at a record speed of less than twenty seconds.
A first rate concert venue in its own right, the stadium has seen the likes of Maddona,U2, Robbie Williams, Bon Jovi and the Rolling Stones take to its stage in the recent past in addition to the Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Police and R.E.M.
