Whilst Internet has been popular in Thailand for some years now, broadband growth had been mitigated. The number of broadband more than doubled in 2005. However growth slowed to 65.0% in 2006. At the end of September 2007, the number of broadband subscribers is estimated to have reached 1.1 million, representing a penetration rate as low as 1.6% and only 24.3% of all Internet connections.
