Tenerife Area And Tourist Guide 2010

So you planning a visit to Tenerife with a view to buying property here in the Canary

Islands but you would like to know a bit about the place before you visit well hopefully this guide to will help you.
Tenerife Area And Tourist Guide 2010

Tenerife is the largest of the Canary Islands, and also of volcanic origins. It is dominated by the 3718 meters high volcano Mount Teide with its mighty crater. The Teide is not only the highest mountain of all Spain, but also the mountain with the highest elevation in all the Atlantic Ocean. Tenerife's coastline is typically rugged and steep, however there are as well almost 70 kilometers of fine sand beaches, in particular in the islands' south, with Playa de las Americas and Los Cristianos among the best known.Santa Cruz de Tenerife is the capital of the island and the head of the island council (cabildo insular). It is the second largest city in the Canary Islands after Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, and is capital of the autonomous community of the Canary Islands alongside that city, sharing governmental institutions such as Presidency, Parliament and ministries. The island is home to La Laguna University, which was founded in 1792. La Laguna is the second city of the island and the third one of the archipelago. El Teide is a World Heritage Site. Tenerife is probably one of the last European paradise isles. "Fascinating" is the word for this island. It offers lush forests, exotic fauna and flora, deserts, mountains, volcanos, sometimes snow, incredibly beautiful coastlines and spectacular beaches. Tenerife is often called a paradise island and for good reason! The island experiences sunshine around the year, has an abundance of world class hotels and offers an exceptional choice of cuisine set against the stunning background of Mount Teide. Most people going on holidays to Tenerife stay in the main tourist resorts of Los Christianos and Playa de las Americas, located side-by-side in the south west of the island. The choice of hotels in Tenerife is quite staggering with everything from affordable 3 star hotels to top class 5 star luxury hotels available. Whether you are planning a romantic break away, a quick 'run to the sun' or a fortnight long family holiday, Tenerife really does have something for everyone. The Canary Island of Tenerife is the perfect year round destination. But what better way to complement that trip with a visit to Barcelona? This city is a metropolitan gem on the Mediterranean Sea. In the center of the city, on the famous boulevard Ramblas While Tenerife's sun-soaked, resort-packed and beach laden southern zone attracts sun-seeking tourists by the thousands, the north is - at least from a cultural stand point - far more interesting. Nestled into the sweeping hillsides, lush banana plantations and rugged, unpredictable coastlines typical of the northern region you will find fascinating cities and towns overflowing with a typical Canarian personality that their southern counterparts have long since lost. Here you'll find entire cities declared World Heritage Sites by UNESCO, immaculately conserved Canarian architecture, time-honored traditions and multi-faceted cultural scenes... all set to a background of verdant gardens, dramatic landscapes and the often snowy peak of Mount Teide. Venture away from the touristy south and explore the urban vitality of capital city Santa Cruz, the quaint small-town atmosphere of Garachico, the friendly hospitality of Puerto de la Cruz, the historical nooks of La Orotava and the eclectic vibe of La Laguna- the youngest old town around! For the more beach and family orientated tourist whey not visit Siam Park Tenerife the newest and most exciting water park in Europe! The Park opened to the public on Wednesday 17th September 2008. Set in a tropical oasis which reflects the ancient kingdom of Thailand, you can enjoy some of the most breath-taking water rides ever created by man. Ride the Dragon, the Mekong Rapids or if you're ready to take the plunge, the Tower of Power for an incredible supercharged adrenaline rush!. That's Tenerife for you something for everyone.

I hope you enjoy your visit to Tenerife in the Canary Islands
