Ten Questions You Should Ask Yourself Before Starting Your Own Business
So,youd like to be the BOSS instead of answering to the one you have now. Well Im here to help you do that, but first you need to answer a few questions. You dont have to answer them for me, but for yourself. And if you dont know the answers, then someone who either works or lives with you does know. I'll go into the reasons one by one later, but right now, just get the answers to these questions.
Print these off and take your time answering, because this knowledge about yourself could very well make or break your ability to build and maintain your business: (1) How do you handle the unexpected? Do you become frustrated, angry, nervous, irritated or do you accept any thing that comes along and go with the flow? Be careful answering this question, as it may not be one or the other.(2) Are you organized? If you answer no to this question, go on to answer who organizes for you, if anyone. If you do have someone, are they willing to continue this responsibility should you decide to own your own business? (3) Does stress create a problem or more motivation for you? If it creates a problem, then answer how you deal with the stress and ensuing problem, such as do you ignore it, take a break, talk to someone, yell? (4) Are you a large picture or small picture person; that is, do you tend to deal better with details or global and overall
issues? (5) How much to care about what others think? That is , compared to what YOU think of yourself.Are you a people-pleaser, and if so does it pertain to almost everyone or just to those who affect your personal or business life the most? (6) What are you most happy doing? Working, playing, being a spectator, eating, sleeping? This answer will indicate what your motivation will be, not what you will be doing the most of.(7) When you are frightened, what do you do? Run, come up fighting, cry, cower, problem-solve a way out? (8) Are you a planner? If so, how detailed to you plangenerally or down to the minute of the day and item? (9) Are you a numbers person? If so, how rigid are you? If not, are you willing to purchase some software to help with budgeting and planning.(10)Are you
flexible? If so, how often would you change plans for emergencies or demands of others.
I probably shouldnt tell you this, but there are no right or wrong answers to these questions. In a later article, I will tell you what you can do if you dont like the answers that you or someone else answered for you here. If you can't wait, then there are many videos and articles Online that
