Teenage Experience We Will Never Forget
There are some experiences, some rites of passage we all go through during our teen years
. Some we remember fondly, while others, we would like to forget. But if you take the cumulative experiences you have during those years, it defines you. Somehow, these experiences helped defined your growth as a young adult. There may have been some choices you would like to take back, but nevertheless, they have made you who you are. Here are some of the experiences you may have gone through and if you are in your forties, such as I am, you will remember them and perhaps smile:- Falling in love. This must come as the first of all experiences. Whether it was your high school crush that you never had the nerve to talk to, or being asked out on a date with someone you were interested in, you may have felt new feelings and emotions that may have made you wonder what to do.
- Being rejected. Conversely, this is a traumatic experience. But these days, perhaps, you may view it with some perspective and come to the conclusion that though it hurt, and may have hurt a lot, it in the end made you stronger. There could have been worse things you may have experience like getting treatment for genital warts. This experience, treatment for genital warts, is something that I hope none of you had the unpleasant condition. Perhaps it was prevalent for those who were teens in the 70's but hopefully it was not in your realm when you were growing up. If it was, well it made you stronger and wiser, I would hope.
- Having your first drink. Hopefully, you were of age, but if not, getting buzzed for the first time is a unique experience. It may even have led to the first time you were intoxicated. Was it because of peer pressure and curiosity that made you take your first drink? For whatever reason, in the end, it was your experience to bear and hopefully, it made you aware of the dangers, as well as the thrills of taking alcohol.
- Your prom. Prom night, especially for high school seniors is a night of remembrance. For some it is an intimate memory as it turns out, this night may have been a night of firsts. But no matter what, it was a night of celebration and passage from high school to perhaps higher learning.
