It's definitely best if you can learn to make your own trading decisions. But sometimes you may feel like you are all on your own and just need to feed off someone else, or maybe confirm a suspicion you have, bounce an idea off someone, or just plain chat.
We are fortunate to live in the age of the internet and because of this, you are never on you own - during the times when you don't want to be. With the internet have come forums where you can go and spend a while.
Here a 3 reasons why you should join a trading forum:
1. If there's anything you're unsure about, post a question, or you may have a comment you'd like to make. You may be required to contribute a number of posts first, before you are granted permission to post a question or comment. Reading through comments and questions can be quite absorbing, especially if it's an interesting post, so make sure you don't get too bogged down, or diverted from your main plot! 2. Sometimes you'll see a post that triggers a more personal point for you, and you'd like a more in depth, private way to communicate with them; private messaging, or the PM as it's commonly know is the facility to use. If you want to ask someone to contact you by email, this is the Maybe someone has made a point or asked a question that you'd like to ask a private question about, or even to make communications with them by more private means instead, such as email. The PM option is the way to do this in complete privacy.
3. Getting information from other members' posts. A minefield of resource information, and all for free. You will be surprised at how much information you can get from just scanning through the titles of some posts. I've been on forums to post a question and ended up down another alley altogether - and come away with plenty of information about something else - then gone back to make the contribution as originally intended. You will also find yourself sharing the same space with some of the sharpest trading minds in the world; through the forum you have access to these guys and girls whose contributions and advice can often be worth gold dust to you.
So take a deep breath and go for it. If you've never been on a forum before it may seem a little daunting at first, but they're nothing to be afraid of, as long as you play by the rules - which are mostly just about common sense and courtesy. Swing Trader Forum
