Spend Your Next Holiday In The Beachside Town Of Port Elliot
Port Elliot is a very small town that is situated in the Fleurieu Peninsula which is in Southern Australia
. Although it is a small town it has seen some development but this has not really altered the nature of the town and it has not seen enough change to make the beaches far too crowded for you to be able to really enjoy them. So this is just some other general information about visiting the region of Port Elliot.If you're into surfing then you shall be able to find everything you need just to the west of the town at Boomer Beach. It's a very popular place and the conditions are almost ideal so it is always best to try and get there early when it is perhaps at its quietest.
But should it be a family holiday then your best bet is to head for Horseshoe Bay where you can really get full advantage of the sand and sea away from the surfers. It is also a very safe place where parents can feel reassured about their children while they're swimming in the sea which does mean they can relax a bit more.
The town itself can be quite quiet and contains different small cafes and little gift shops spread sporadically across the town. It does tend to really come across as having a laid back, relaxed approach to life so do not travel here expecting a party atmosphere as it is really not going to happen.
Port Elliot accommodation is adequate but as you would expect with a town this small you do not have an abundance of choices in hotels. It does though some good other forms of holiday accommodation and you are not charged over the top so there are things that suit different budgets and requirements.
The area is covered in a range of coastal paths to let you really take in and appreciate the scenery that surrounds you. It is of course going to cost you absolutely nothing but make sure you have a lot of time to fully take it all in and enjoy the fresh air. You should also consider getting some kind of official guide or map which details the paths as they also contain a number of other pieces of information about what you are likely to see.
There is not going to be the widest range of cuisine available as you aren't going to have food from around the world all competing in such a small town but what you shall find is that it is of an excellent quality in the different restaurants that do exist. The prices you pay are also pretty reasonable and if you get seafood then at least you know it is going to be pretty fresh.
A lot of the region does deal with the sea and various activities on the water along with the beach but it is not all that does exist. It is a nice area for families who are looking for a quiet break away from it all and at least you know you are not going to be overrun by surfers and wild parties to all hours of the night.
