When one has been to South Africa, ones initial impression is that the country loves its sport, whether it is rugby, cricket or even soccer now, it seems that South Africans are almost bred to become sporting heroes around the globe. This does however place some serious pressure on their cricket team when they come up against England for the last test this week. A draw or defeat will mean they will have lost a test series against England, a win and the series will be drawn. In reality this is a no win situation for the cricket team that have played so valiantly over the last 12 months, South Africans love to win and the fact that they have to play knowing they cannot win the series over England on their home turf will make their heads boil. Yes, South Africa were perhaps unlucky, but luck does not make winners on a constant basis and they will know that. They are going to have to play this last test with such precision that they will be wanting to humiliate England as much as possible and unfortunately this may well work against an England team that seem ready to cope with anything that may be thrown at them.
