Single Parents Dating: Fight Off The First Date Fatigue

The first date is a crucial event for all daters

. This is the time where you get to determine when more dates are needed or it's the last date you would want with the person. This is the time to learn more about the person, the possibilities of having a relationship with them. It's the first step and a very decisive step. It's quite exciting but it can be stressful, relieve yourself from the dating fatigue.

1. Take care of yourself.

Being sickly and emotional on your first date won't win you anything. On a first date you have to check on your physical, mental and emotional health. These are important aspects that you have to work out and maintain. Now you have been busy and stressed with your job and lack sleep, then come Friday and the big date. Take a break: emotionally, physically, and mentally. Prepare for your date. At least put some effort to look presentable for your date. Be enthusiastic about it. If you really want to get a date and keep one, then remember that there are bumps along the way but you'll get to the right track.

2. Don't pressure yourself.

People can get pressured from all the expectations and that can put pressure on ourselves and towards our dates. If you think of a lot of things other than having fun and knowing each other; then it will drag your date down. All those negative energy can be contagious. It can build up the tension between you two and you haven't even been there for at least 5 minutes. It would be a less stressful event if you just put all of those expectations away especially on a first date. Have fun with your date, get to know them and just focus on them. Save all the judging later.

3. Gather all the information you need.

Before you decide to go on a first date with that person, then get all the information that you would need about them. First dates can become exhausting and unsatisfying because you feel that you don't know much about them. Chat more, talk over the phone or email each other. By doing so you can get to know them better and when you meet, you'd at least have a idea about them.

4. Decline gracefully.

If you feel like there is no point in continuing the date then end it gracefully. If it's the first date and it may take some while for you to warm up, not all should be ended right away right? But if you feel that you two just don't click no matter how you look at it then stop wasting both your times and energy. Be tactful and respectful when you want to end the date and explain the reason as well. Don't leave them hanging on.

5. Don't give up.

Now that you have a string of uninspiring dates and want to give up- don't. Having a long hiatus from dating can be a great escape but it will just throw you off. Keep going out on dates, keep looking for the right person. Hang in there and be patient. Love takes time. Be persistent when it comes to finding that person.

Don't be overwhelmed on a first date. Keep going and don't stop believing in love, you will find the right one eventually. First dates are a great start to finding a great relationship, just don't stress yourself.
