Simple Treatments For Oily Skin

Have you tried looking in the mirror only to see your shining face

? Oily skin is a common problem worldwide. It is because of too much oil production by the sebaceous glands. The oil produced by these glands are necessary to keep your skin healthy. Although sometimes too much oil is not good. Looking for an oily skin treatment that works may seem hard. But it's not really true!

The first thing that you have to do in oily skin treatment is to make sure that your face is clean. Use warm water and a gentle cleanser to wash your face two to three times everyday. Avoid drying out your skin too much. It may appear that dry skin isn't oily. It can in fact lead to more oil being produced. More oil will be given out if your skin dries out. Don't use rough cloths and strong cleansers. Your sebaceous glands might kick into overdrive if your skin gets in contact with anything too harsh.

In addition to the gentle soap or facial scrub, be sure that part of your oily skin treatment is using tepid water, not hot. Hot water can dry out your skin, just like the harsh cleansers. This will again cause your sebaceous glands to go into overdrive.

After you have controlled the oil production and your face is dirt-free, you might think that you can already set aside your oily skin treatment. Not exactly! You need to continue it to keep your skin's balance. Also, be sure that your efforts aren't going down the drain because of the heavy cosmetics you use. Use only noncomedogenic products. They do not have that extra oil to clog your pores.

If your problems aren't solved after trying different oily skin treatments, then it's high time for you to ask help from your dermatologist. He or she will check your history and help you find something that may work for you. Keep in mind that your sebaceous glands are sensitive. They could act up or kick into overdrive from heat or hormones. Greasy foods can also cause the overproduction of oil. This hasn't exactly been proven yet but many people claim that they get oily skin right after feasting on pizza. Also, some people are just destined to have oily skin, especially if their parents also have it; it can be hereditary. If this is the case, your dermatologist may give you a Retinoid medication. Retinoids do shrink the glands, it has been proven. This causes the reduction of the oil produced.

It's quite tough to deal with oily skin, especially if you are a teenager. Washing your face properly is a part of the oily skin treatment. You can do this by washing your face with warm water and a gentle cleanser. Consulting your dermatologist can also be helpful. This will clear up your complexion and let you live your life like you want without having to worry about an overly shiny face.
