Side is located 75 km. east of Antalya. It is famous for its golden sandy beaches, temples, forests, waterfalls, mountains and monuments which date back to 7th Century B.C. It is the harbor city which is located on the Peninsula region in the South East Asia Minor.
With a good harbor for small craft boats it was one of the most important trade centers in its time. In ancient days it was a big city but gradually the population moved to Antalya and Side was then known as Old Antalya. Slowly Side turned to legitimate commerce and still is prospering.
The local people follow the Turkish culture and they speak the Sidetic language. On either side of the Peninsula there are two shingle beaches and a small sandy cove in the town centre. There are a plenty of water sports like water skiing, parasailing, scuba diving, windsurfing, jet skiing and snorkeling.
The historical Temple of Dionysos, the Palace of the Emperor or even the Temples of Athena and Apollo are some of the places which will make your stay adventurous. The beautiful Manavgat waterfall is an exciting excursion to go on. The jeep safari on the Taurus Mountain is also very popular in Side. In an old town of Side, the restaurants at the waterfront serve delicious Turkish food along with some other international cuisines to select from. The popular food here is made from fish. Shopping in Side is very exciting. At the city centre there are shops giving you choices to buy jewellery, copperware, leather goods, clothes and traditional games for your loved ones. The largest market in the nearby town of Manavgat offers great bargains for all you buy.

July and August are the warmest. Winters are mild and wet with temperature ranging from 8 to 15 degrees. January is the coldest month.
To travel around the city you can hire a car or use local buses. Antalya Airport is the nearest Airport. To reach Side it takes approximately 1 hour 15 minutes from the Antalya Airport. To see the mountains sweep down to meet the sea and the scenery of the Mediterranean Coast which is breathtaking view, and to believe it visit it.
