Shopping In London

One of the true joys of a visit to London is the amazing shopping opportunities

. The city is so big that you can find anything you desire. From the most exclusive designer stores to charming market stalls, there is something for everyone.

Oxford Street is the most popular place for shoppers. It is a long main road with hundreds of large stores like Selfridges. It is the busiest shopping street in Europe and even more so at Christmas time as shoppers flock to the many department stores.

Covent Garden is an excellent place for an afternoon shopping in London. There are many independent fashionable clothes shops to choose from and an excellent choice of cafes to take a break in too.

Bond Street features the most exclusive fashion stores. This is where the top designers have set up shop. Gucci and Armani are just two of the many top level brands with their own stores here. Even if you can't afford the premium prices it is worth taking a look at some of these beautifully decorated stores with stunning fashion designs.

Carnaby Street is home to Kingly Court which has many 'concept shops', which sell items not available anywhere else. This is a really good place for those that like unique designs and trinkets. Soho is close by which is worth a walk through to see the infamous red light shops from the street.

Camden Town is London's most popular area for market stalls and second hand shops. It is an excellent area with incense burning and some rather far out fashions available. There are plenty of roadside cafes and pubs to break up the day here too.

Knightsbridge is where the famous Harrods department store is located. It is also home to Harvey Nicols. These two shops alone are big enough to warrant a visit to the area, but there are also plenty of other options too.
