The French are generally friendly people who consider manners to be very important. Do not be surprised if they seem offended or cowed if you speak too loudly.

As Americans, it is very common for us to speak loudly and it does not bother us. However, in other countries speaking loudly is seen as very rude.

Watch your manners, but take advantage of all the opportunities available to you in Paris. This will be a vacation you will never forget.
