. One must take a tour around the city and feel the calmness spread over here.

Geeta Bhawan: This is one of the most ancient temple complexes in Rishikesh. The walls of the temple bear the writings from the well known epics Mahabharata and Ramayana. There is a meditation hall in the complex where the devotees assemble to say their prayers. The Ayurvedic department over here is prepares medicines using the herbs from Himalayas and water from River Ganga.

Nilkanth Mahadeo Temple: This temple is devoted to Lord Shiva and is one of the most sought after place in Rishikesh. According to the Hindu mythology Lord Shiva drank poison over here, which was produced after churning the sea water. Lord Shivas throat turned blue after drinking the poison and thus he was named Nilkanth. The temple is situated at the height of 5000 ft and gives the picturesque view of the surrounding places.

Lakshman Jhula: It is one of the chief attractions in the town, and is just the suspension of the bridge across the River Ganga. According to Hindu Mythology this bridge is believed to be formed with the help of jute ropes by Lakshman, and was thus named as Lakshman Jhula. One can get the most stunning view of the sacred river from here, which flows below. Tourists who visit to Lakshman Jhula enjoy feeding the fishes in the river.

Triveni Ghat: This is the chief bathing ghat in the holy city of Rishikesh, thousands of devotees throng the ghat to take a dip early in the morning. The ghat is named Triveni because it is believed that the 3 rivers Yamuna, Ganga and Saraswati congregate here. The ghat attracts large number of people during the evening when the aarti is done. The priests offer prayers, perform puja and chant mantras during the evening time. The people get the spectacular view of this river after the aarti when thousands of lamps are set to float in the river.

Rishikund: It is situated near the Triveni Ghat, people come here also to take holy dip. It is believed that the reservoir here fed by Goddess Yamuna.

Bharat Temple: This is the most ancient temple in the city as it was constructed in the 12th century. The temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and is assumed to be carved out of a single stone. of Mahavishnu
