Van Vihar is a big park that is close to the Mall road and it has a big lake with boating attraction. If visitors arent boating they don the lensmen avatar here. Close to the park there is a Tibetan monastery worth visiting. And all of these attractions fall in the 1.5 miles radius distance in the main town of Manali.
However, the National Highway 21 road that takes to Manali also leads to more fascinating attractions such as Lahoul-Spiti and Leh-Ladakh. Along the way there are many pagoda-styled monasteries strewn are a must visit for a great spiritual retreat.
If you are a no-hurry visitor you can take a trip to Rohtang Pass and enjoy skiing and tobogganing on the snowy mountains. On the way you can check out the Solang valley and enjoy the opportunity of Paragliding for little money. Rohtang Pass leads to Leh-Ladakh and you can enjoy views of Gyphang mountain peaks and Rahalla falls on your way to Ladakh.
