Jamaica has recently been in the news for violence that erupted in Kingston for the arrest of a drug lord based there. The images of the violence shown on the TV, coupled by the travel advisory issued by the US government warning its citizens against travelling to the country, may have put you off from visiting, however, realize that the travel advisory comes to an end of 23 June and more important than that Kingston is miles away from the north coast of the island where the tourist attractions are concentrated. Skipping a holiday in Jamaica is like not going to Los Angeles because there is rain in San Francisco and so if you have travel to the island on mind, there is no time like now to plan your trip and take advantage of the special discounts offered by Jamaica villas and cottages to welcome the tourists back to the country. The sea here is serene and you can lounge on an air mattress and float in the sea without getting even your hair wet. The town is famous for its sunsets and there is no better place to enjoy them than at the Rick's Caf.
It goes without saying that Jamaica's tourism has suffered a set back because of the violence; however things are returning to normal (though ask the tourists who visited the island despite the advisory and you'll wonder what the fuss was about in the first place).
