Udaipur built by Maharajah Udai Singh and his ancestors. The city is built around large lakes with a floating palace the pleasure grounds of the Maharajahs. Udaipur is a charming city with historical monuments, lovely gardens and havelis scattered around all over.

Jaisalmer the city on sandstone is situated in the heart of the Thar Desert. Also called as the Golden City of India it was built by Rao Jaisal. Well known for its mud fortresses and walled township it has become a popular tourist destination in India.

Jodhpur is also known as the Sun City. The Mehrangarh Fort is prized tourist attraction of the city in Rajasthan. The Mehrangarh Fort is one of the most majestic of princely abodes in India. It is built over a 125 m high hill and majestically towers over the township. Another notable monument in Jodhpur is the Umaid Bhavan Palace. The palace is one of the most contemporary amongst the palaces built in India. It is built of Chittar sandstone which gives it a unique characteristic. The magnificent palace is now a five star hotel and one of the biggest private residences in the World.

Jaipur is the capital of Rajasthan and is popularly known as the Pink City due to large number of buildings with outer walls made of pink stones. Jaipur has number of forts palaces and havelis which are major tourist attractions. The major attractions are Hawa Mahal, Amber Fort, Jaigarh Fort, City Palace and Rambagh Palace. Jantar Mantar is famous astronomical observatory with large number of equipments for astronomical study. The observatory was popular among ancient Indian astronomer.
