Vests
Having a good choice of simple vest tips is vital to your transitional wardrobe because it's all about being able to layer your clothing. Wear a vest top or cotton t-shirt under a chunky knit jumper for winter, team with a lightweight cardigan for spring and wear alone during the summer; definitely one of the must have pieces for your transitional wardrobe.
Knitwear
You might associate knitted pieces with autumn and winter but in fact the trend in lightweight knitwear means you can easily take it through to different season with ease. A simple lightweight jumper or a waterfall cardigan will work well come rain and shine; wrap up in it during the winter and keep it on hand in the summer months.
Jeans
Every woman should have a few pairs of well-fitting quality jeans in their transitional wardrobe because the beauty about denim is that it's so easy to wear - it's simply about what you wear with them. A simple white t-shirt will work well with straight leg jeans for warm days while a chunky knit cardigan will be warm for winter with boot cut jeans.
Outerwear
It can be difficult to figure out what coat or jacket to wear when the weather is a bit hit and miss; you don't want to be too warm but you don't want to get soaked either. That's why it's always a good idea to have certain coats and jackets in your wardrobe. A simple waterproof mac is certainly handy and can even be popped into your bag, while a lightweight fleecy jacket can be worn underneath for extra warmth if needed. For something more fashionable a leather jacket will work well, but you'll need to carry an umbrella with you because most don't have hoods.
Footwear
Similar to picking your outerwear, footwear is another area that is important in a transitional wardrobe because it needs to be comfortable, waterproof and stylish. With boots it's best to avoid big heels because they won't work well in the mud, snow or ice. Choose a pair of flat leather calf boots in a versatile colour that are easy to wear in the winter to stay warm and dry but won't be too much when it comes to warmer months. A great tip is to keep a pair of simple flat pumps in your bag, that way you're prepared whatever the weather.
