Proper Attire For Different Occasions When Travelling

If you're going on a vacation sometime soon

, you'll probably be thinking about what kinds of things you want to pack. You'll want to make sure you pack plenty of batteries of film for a camera. You'll want to make sure that any bottled liquids are packed in your suitcase if you're planning to take a plane. You'll want to make sure you have any first aid or extra food you might want. There are a number of things on your packing checklist, but what about the different kinds of clothing you want to pack?

If you're going to a tropical place, you'll obviously want to pack a bathing suit. If you plan on going to the beach more than one day in a row, you'll want to pack more than one bathing suit, because you'll want your other suit to have time to dry out. You'll also want to bring multiple beach towels, so that you don't have to buy any or use hotel towels. You might also want to bring a cover up, so you can go to a restaurant or tourist shop straight from the beach, without having to wear your bathing suit around everywhere.

If you're planning on going to a popular tourist attraction, you'll want to wear comfortable shoes. A vacation is not a good time to try and break in new shoes. You'll want to bring a reliable pair that don't cramp your feet or cause you to get blisters. If you're in a warm climate, you'll want to wear light colored clothes that are comfortable. You can wear shorts and a t-shirt, but you'll want to be sure to bring a hat and extra sunscreen so you'll be safe from getting sunburn.

You might also choose to dress in the fashion of the place you're going. For example, if you're going to a luau in Hawaii, you might decide to wear a Hawaiian print dress if you're a woman or a shirt if you're a man. These kinds of things are acceptable but not in all cases. If you're going to a fine restaurant in Hawaii, you might not want to wear cargo shorts and a big Hawaiian shirt, because the event might be more formal than that.

If you're going to a formal dinner, whether you're on a cruise, a vacation, a date, or what have you, it is always better to remember the rule of thumb. It is always better to be overdressed than underdressed. Some places have a dress code, especially nice clubs or bars. If you wear jeans to places like this, you might be turned away. Even if other people are wearing business casual outfits and you look formal, it isn't something to be embarrassed about.

You'll want to pack a variety of outfits when you go on vacation, so you can be prepared for any type of situation you have. You can pack a variety of outfits and still pack lightly, if you know how to mix and match your outfits to make them more formal and casual as needed.
