In fact Pria Kataria Puri believes it to be her moral obligation to preserve Indian art of handicraft and craft on materials or clothes. Hence all the apparels she designs have hand embroidery work on them along with mirror work, beads, shells and hand trappings in wool threads. She has been awarded the Bharat Yuva Ratna award and the Bharat Vikas award for designing women's wear. She adds that she is equally comfortable with Indian and Western garments. This can be reflected in her work as her collections are a blend of the East and West.
