Having finished your visit to Kakadu it is now time to drive the southern half of Kakadu at Litchfield. There are spectacular waterfalls and more scenery as you travel this well worn track for the next three or four hours. After an overnight sleep at the Gaguju Lodge is time to drive north to the township of Batchelor and the Litchfield National Park. It is safe to swim at some of the waterholes here and after a long dusty trip nothing can be more enjoyable.
The full round-trip can take as long as five days if you wish and this means you can spend at least half a day in each location where you can really soak up the atmosphere. It is said that you need time alone in some of the ravines and gorges you will find in this remarkable area to really come to grips with what the Australia outback really means.
