Places to Take the Family When Staying in Glasgow

Are you heading up to Scotland for a well earned break in the near future? If you are and you've got Glasgow on your list of places to stay, don't miss the chance to see some of the following delightful venues. These are perfect for the whole family to enjoy, so make the most of seeing them all.

For starters there is the Glasgow Science Centre. Now this may not sound all that thrilling, but wait until you see it in person. The name doesn't do it justice because it is packed with bright and vibrant things to do that will entertain the kids as well as the adults.

They have brand new exhibitions on here all the time, so you never quite know what to expect when you visit. There is also the IMAX cinema if you want to take them to see a film. The highlight is definitely the Science Mall, which has three whole floors of things to see and do. Kids from six to 60 and beyond will love the hands on method that has been used to create the mall.

Glasgow is also well known for having its very own tall ship, moored in Glasgow Harbour. She looks impressive from the outside, but once you get on board you'll be even more entranced by her. There are plenty of activities for the whole family to get up to, as well as exploring every inch of the ship of course. Why not try and see who can find the ship's cat first?

The fun continues off the ship as well, with a dockside area that is set out to let you play some traditional games that would have been very popular in times gone by. You should look for the Pre-5 area too if you have younger children, since this is aimed at them. As you can see this provides a great way to wear out the kids and entertain the whole family at the same time.

If the weather is good and you really want to tire out the kids, how about planning a picnic and a day out at the Mugdock Country Park? This is a lovely location that is packed with opportunities to take part in various sports. You could try archery or horse riding if you fancy it. Alternatively you can head out onto one of the trails. The scavenger hunt will keep the younger members of the family enthralled as you explore everything the park has to offer.

There is certainly a lot to do when you visit Glasgow. If you want to stay for longer you can settle into one of the cheap hotels in Glasgow so you can enjoy even more of the city's delightful attractions.
