Disney has released a new teaser poster that features the latest addition to the Pirates mythos, mermaidsa rather boring new international poster has also turned up, but it only depicts burning pirate ships on rough watersand has also aired the first new TV spot since the Super Bowl. The new TV spot contains snippets of new footage and also explains for the first time why mermaids are an essential part of Capt. Jack's quest to find the fabled Fountain of Youth.
The theatrical trailer for Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, the fourth installment of the highly prized Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, has been released into the wild. The film, starring Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow, Ian McShane as the ruthless pirate Blackbeard, Geoffrey Rush as Captain Hector Barbossa, Kevin R. McNally as Joshamee Gibbs and Penelope Cruz as Sparrow's former lover Angelica, pits all against one another in the search for the fabled Fountain of Youth.
And just like all the previous installments, zany fun and swashbuckling action will abound as each doublecrosses the other; this time, however, the hijinks will be in shiny Disney 3D.

The international cast includes franchise vets Geoffrey Rush as the vengeful Captain Hector Barbossa and Kevin R. McNally as Captain Jack's longtime comrade Joshamee Gibbs, plus Sam Claflin as a stalwart missionary and Astrid Berges-Frisbey as a mysterious mermaid.
This, as you'll notice, is the international version as it carries the UK's May 18 release date instead of May 20, which is when it will be released domestically, but I think it satisfies all interested parties.
