Thailand is one of the worlds most visited destinations for holidays. It is a mlange of cultures, cuisines, fun, shopping and nature. It has tourists all year around. The most visited places in Thailand are of course it's capital Bangkok, which is a big shopping destination and also food capital with its exotic varieties of street as well as gourmet food, then there's Pattaya , Koh Samui, Phuket, Chiang Mai.
But to get away from all the chaos in the city, Phuket(pronounced Pooket') is the perfect destination. It is definitely paradise on earth. There are loads to see, things t o do, food to try out and then of course there's my favourite Shopping!!
Getting there is simple as there are no international flights that go directly to Phuket, you have to take a flight to Bangkok and then you can either drive or fly to phuket. Driving there takes longer so flying there would be more convenient unless you're looking to save money. If you're a party animal then opting to stay at Patong would be good. Patong beach is the party zone of Thailand it has everything and I mean everything. You name it and Patong has it. If you're not so much of a party animal and like some peace and quiet you can opt to stay at Panwa, Panwa is very serene and peaceful. Green and beautiful would probably be the best way to describe it.
So once you get there you just can't sit at your hotel room or hang by the pool, because there is load to do. From elephant safaris, Bunjee jumping, Thai cooking classes, speed boat rides, water sports, Thai massages, shopping and lots more. You can get the activities booked with agents available at Phuket airport or you could get them booked for you at the hotel itself. When you visit Phuket you must be sure to go to the islands of Phi Phi. Did you know that the hit movie " the beach" and also the James bond Movie "Die another day" were both shot at the Phi Phi islands along with the Phi Phi islands there is the Vikings cave where you will see tall bamboos which is used to extract the birds nest for the very famous birds nest soup. Be sure to go snorkeling when you visit the Phi Phi islands, to see its rich coral and aquatic flora and fauna. Then there is also Monkey island where you can get a chance to get up close and personal with the monkeys on the beach. During you're stay in Phuket you must pay a visit to Fantasea the theme park that is opened only in the night, it has live shows, white tigers, elephant rides and once again shopping!! And at the end of it there is a show up up in the auditorium that depicts the traditions and cultures of Thailand. The whole theme park is a brilliant concept and a must see when you visit Phuket. And don't for get when in Thailand, do as the Thai's do. Be adventurous and have fun!
