Steve Nash, Point Guard: Nash is the team's best player, despite his age. He's still able to log significant minutes on a nightly basis, probably at least partially due to the team's renowned training staff, and he really makes those minutes count. He's one of the best passers in the league and one of the deadliest shooters, as well. He might be a bit limited and indifferent on defense, but offensively he's still one of the best in the game. Amare Stoudemire, Power Forward: Stoudemire is in a contract year, so you can probably expect a solid season out of him. He's coming off an eye injury that had him lying face down for 20 hours a day for several weeks of the offseason. Amare's talent has never been questioned, but his effort and selfishness have been areas that he's received criticism in. If he can put his contract issues aside, this team can definitely reach the postseason. He should be motivated to perform both individually and as a teammate this season.
Jason Richardson, Shooting Guard: Richardson seems to be kind of the forgotten man in Phoenix from what I gather. He's immensely talented and is a high-flyer. He settles for threes too often, but can be a major weapon for this team. He's the third option behind Nash and Amare and should have a good season under Alvin Gentry, especially if he puts the ball on the floor more often.
Grant Hill, Small Forward: Hill is getting up there in age, but he's a smart player with a good all-around skill set. He's not going to take over any games, but he can provide a little bit of everything and be a solid role player in the starting lineup. He also brings a veteran presence.
Channing Frye, Center: I loved this pickup for the Suns. The team needed a big man to play at the five so they could move Stoudemire back to his natural position at power forward. Frye is not the toughest interior player, but this team doesn't really need that. An element he does bring is the ability to shoot from long range, which will be a major asset in this offense.
Earl Clark, Forward: Clark was the team's first-round pick this offseason, and they're going to have to ease him in a bit. He's extremely talented and could be a future star player. Some people have questioned his motivation, but nobody denies his talent. He's already a good defender and boasts the potential for a versatile game similar to Lamar Odom's.
Leandro Barbosa, Guard: Barbosa will be looked to for scoring off the bench and can play some point, as well.
Louis Amundson, Power Forward: He's your prototypical garbage man, doing all the little things and giving maximum effort.
Goran Dragic, Point Guard: They need something from him this season. His rookie season was not good, but he could come around this year. If he does, it will make things much easier on Steve Nash and the second unit.
