Eating a five hundred calorie (500 cal) piece of cake will never be equal to eating the same amount of calories of whole wheat bread. Food that cost more effort to eat can burn more calories. The softer, easier foods to eat makes your intestines and stomach work less thus increasing belly fat. Eating foods high in fibre and protein can significantly increase your metabolism by working your digestion higher than the normal rate. Your body doubles its effort and in the process it does not absorb the calories you take in. So if you want to increase your metabolism, start by choosing the right food to help in your digestion. Before shoving something inside your mouth, have that moment to think and rethink.

I burn what I eat, no matter what it is

Studies found that people who exercise more tend to eat more because they depend on the fact that they burn it through exercise. For people whose aim is to lose weight, this will not be very applicable. Sweating it out will not be enough to aid you in your goal. If you do exercise but take in more calories than before when you were not hitting the gym, you should not expect to lose weight. It takes double the effort. To lose a pound off your weight, cut down two hundred and fifty calories (250 cal) from you regular calorie take -in and try to burn another two hundred fifty through exercise. Sticking with this routine everyday for one week can accumulate up to one pound (1 lb) slashed off your weight. After every workout, reward yourself with healthy food such as a smoothie. A mix of fruits with low fat yogurt can be a good reward after work out. It also has the ability of curbing your hunger hormones thus you tend to eat less instead of more every after workout.
