Parents Need To Express Their Affection To Their Kids
Parents remember what their childhoods were like but children dont know what it is like to grow up
. Some children come from strict orthodox families where tradition matters the most and grow up fearful and politely restraint as though they were stepping on someones toes. While others brought up in semi rigid families know what their families expect of them and behave accordingly when outside.
These children have a clear sense of right and wrong and are confident in life knowing well, how to deal with the ups and downs of life, without turning to depression or extreme excitement. However there are times when parents have had a tough childhood themselves and dont know how to treat their children. A confused lot themselves, they land up confusing the child till the child grows up into a spoilt brat. The child has no idea of what is good or bad because there has been no reinforcement of good or bad behaviour through reward or punishment and so when the child is wrong even then the child is not shouted at but the parent on the contrary keeps quiet.
When the child grows up into a mature individual, the same behaviour becomes anti-social and the child cant understand where the fault lies. Today families are facing another confusing element money. Parents who dont have time to spend with their children buy them a gift and try and win their affection. This is churning out a generation where children equate everything with money and is a vicious circle sending out the wrong signals to the youth that if theres been an argument or a fight within the family, currency notes can help, well, affection does. Its time we asked ourselves whether we express our affection for our children through all that money can buy or plainly and simply by saying, we love you.
