P&O Cruises pushes the boat out for its 175th anniversary year
P&O Cruises has announced cruise itineraries for next season with a fanfare, celebrating a remarkable 175 years of life on the ocean wave during P&O's 2012 cruise season.
The year will not just be a be a momentous one for P&O Cruises - any passengers choosing to book new 2012/2013 cruises with the cruise line will receive a further 10 per cent anniversary saving on many selected sailings (after the early booking discount has been deducted), subject to terms and conditions, and excluding world cruises.
The cruise line is throwing in a whole party bag of goodies to entice passengers to the P&O party: passengers booking onto any Mediterranean and Caribbean fly cruises, or Caribbean transatlantic cruises within P&O's new 2012/2013 programme will be eligible for a gift of on board spending money, banded according to the cruise and its duration. Credit will range from 60 per couple (booking an inside cabin, for example) up to 280 per couple (if booking a suite), and this will be credited to their ship account for use on board.
As an added perk to seduce passengers along for their anniversary year, P&O is offering free car parking on all cruises of seven night's duration or more leaving from and returning to P&O's cruise terminals in Southampton, saving a potential 85 for a 7 night cruise, and even more on cruises that are longer in duration. This is, again, subject to the inevitable terms and conditions and registration of passenger details with P&O's car parking agent no less than 35 days before the booking. Exclusions for this offer include world cruises and Oceana's Spring 2012 voyages.
Members of P&O's loyalty club Peninsular, (formerly Portunus but recently rebranded and restructured to include additional layers) will be guests of honour during P&O's celebration year, benefiting from an additional 5 per cent discount over and above the anniversary discount of 10 per cent, and also on board credit.
The highlight of the 175th anniversary celebrations will be a meeting of the fleet in Southampton on the evening of 3 July, 2012, for what promises to be one memorable party for P&O Cruises and guests aboard participating ships Azura, Ventura, Oceana, Arcadia, Aurora, Oriana and Adonia.
