Just coming to Washington, D.C. is in and of itself full of adventures. There is so much to do and see here that it's impossible to take in all in, unless you plan on staying for a month or two. But since it was cherry blossom season three of my girlfriends and I got in the car and drove down from Philadelphia. None of us had ever been to DC so we were extremely excited.
We luckily got a hotel right near a metro station and began our weeklong trip seeing the Japanese cherry blossoms. They were absolutely breathtaking. It was very crowded there, as thousands of people flock to DC just to see them. After we all took video of the trees surrounding the tidal basin we made our way to The Mall. Now that was one of the best events of the trip. Seeing all of the awe inspiring memorials, monuments, the reflecting pool and the United States Capitol were only things we've seen on television.
There were so many museums we wanted to see that we made a list and attempted to follow it to the letter. We also planned to see the National Gallery, the Archives, The White House, and the Library of Congress. But the sad thing was that we couldn't fit everything in because we only had a week. So after we made our initial list of things to do and see we had to shorten it and save the rest for our next trip. There are just too many adventures in DC to do in one week.
