Online Home Business: How To Think Like The Boss, Not The Employee.

It's Important To Pace Yourself.

Everyone wants to get fast results and not many new internet business people want to put the time in to learn the fundamentals and work their way up. Everyone is looking for that quick fix. People typically have unrealistic expectations about what they can achieve when they are first starting out, imagining that they can just get their head down and make an instant success of whatever it is that they are going to do.

These are crazy attitudes and beliefs and whilst their confidence is to be applauded their realism is not. You see the truth is that you need to accept that you aren't going to be able to walk in off the street and create the all singing, all dancing internet business with a click of your fingers and achieve overnight success. You probably don't know how to do so and even if you did it would take a lot more application and effort than that.

When a person decides that they are going to run a marathon, they don't just go out one day and run a 2 hour marathon without any preparation. It's not realistic. They have to plan and prepare and all this takes time. This is the same for your new internet business. Give yourself the time to learn what you need to and action different aspects of the business as you go along. Don't be ashamed to take baby steps each day and soon you'll be amazed to see how far you have come. Rome wasn't built in a day.

How To Set The Right Goals. So as you set out on this new online adventure, set yourself some goals. Think of this as a new journey. When you go on a journey you need to know where you are going and why you are going there. It might not be a smooth road and there may be troubles along the way so you had better have good reasons for going there and your route should be well planned. How much do you want to be making from your online business? How quickly do you want to achieve this? How long can you spend working on it every day or week? How much progress can you realistically expect to make per month? All these are important questions that you should answer before starting out because it is easy to lose the passion and get distracted from the task.

Set yourself some small goals that you will be realistically be able to achieve and when you succeed set some more and take it to the next level. You will find this more satisfying than just aiming for the ultimate prize of financial freedom and never seeming to get any closer. As time goes by and you achieve more of your goals, the amount that you will be capable of achieving will increase at each step and you will start to see your business growing exponentially. Know where you are going!

Passive Income. The whole point of creating and running an online business is to make money. If there was no money in this then we probably wouldn't bother. If you want to become wealthy and live the laptop lifestyle you need to create the correct kind of income stream. If you work hard to make a sale, spending your time making sales pitches and you get a few buyers then you make a few bucks and that's great. You are making money online. However, consider how hard you had to work to make those sales. Can you sell the same thing to those people again? Are those few sales going to make you any money in the future. The answer is probably no. You have just earned a sum of money which is classed as active income.

You had to exchange your time in order to earn that money. That's all well and good but you could argue that what you have done is to create yourself a job (maybe even a second or third job)! Beginners often start out making this mistake and it is a shame because the whole point of the internet is that it can be automated to make you money on autopilot. So new internet marketers should be aiming to build systems and processes whereby they can start earning passive income and recurring income rather than active income.

You're Not An Employee In This Business. My final message to you is that you should realise that you are not the employee in your new internet business. You are the employer, the owner, the Big Daddy (or Mommy)! Whatever you decide, goes! You need to recognise that you aren't an employee here so you can no longer afford to think like one. Stop waiting to be told what to do and create your own schedule, your own plan of action.

No one is going to do it for you. You are responsible for your successes and failures. You can't blame anyone else so step up to the plate and make it happen. This is the best opportunity you have ever had so get up off your backside and have the guts to get out there and be the success that I know you can be!
