Then, you source out ad placements by subscribing to a CPM advertising network that will provide you the ads which you embed on your site through snippets of code. Usually, it falls to the site owner to choose the ads that will appear on their site, which may range from small text-based ads to full-screen interstitial ones that precede page loads. The ad network selects sites by virtue of page view number, so this is where the required high traffic of the subscriber's site comes into play. While some networks will allow sites with a relatively small or even have no required traffic rate for sites to join, the big players set strict requirements on the page views of their affiliate sites because they tend to pay better; Typical page views needed for a site to join a big ad network can go to a low of 10,000 to as high as a staggering 10 million per month.
