Oklahoma Sooners Endeavor A Better Offensive Against Texas Longhorns.
The Sooners will attempt to obtain an important win this Saturday against their archrivals
, the Texas Longhorns, who are still to know what defeat tastes like so far this season.Oklahoma has already lost its matches against BYU and Miami, but they do not seem to lose their edge. This would be the second time in the 11 seasons since Stoops is Head Coach, that Oklahoma arrives to the Big 12 South game versus Texas with more the two losses.
Mack Brown, Head Coach for the Longhorns, knows very well that OU will desperately fight for a victory in the Red River Rivalry this weekend. Nevertheless, the Longhorns have moved the cards on their favor these last seasons, taking three of the last four games. Stoops, however, insist that they need to focus on the big picture: win the Big 12. Yet, the bottom line is, if his team does not claim a victory this Saturday, the chances of taking the Big 12 would be greatly hurt.
Bradford injury brought some bad news both for the Team and for the talented and ambitious player himself. Anyhow, the harm has been done. It is quite evident that OU will not be one of the contenders for the National Championship Game, as it is also evident that Bradford will not be repeating his feat of taking the Heisman one more time.
Even with Bradford on the field, and all the implications this has, Oklahoma is still to prove this season a strong solid offensive. The squads problems in the goal zone forced the team to rely upon four field goals to obtain a victory against Baylor last weekend; their offensive line dropped the ball on 11 occasions, with three in the end zone. Oklahoma cannot afford to repeat this kind of mistakes with Texas because the Longhorns are not going to be so merciful and will certainly take advantage of any misstep OU takes.
Sooners fans wish their QB could repeat the spectacular game he had last year when he completed 21 of the 32 passes he threw for 244 yards and three touchdowns and no interceptions.
Now the Texas-OU game promises to be one of the most exciting matches of the season. More than 90.000 fans are expecting to rush into the streets of Houston to support their team in this years rivalry game. Players rise to the occasion. There is a good vibe surrounding this game. Players know it. Fans know it.
