. In my university days, I participated in a workshop Media for Child Rights. In the workshop, the first question that organizers asked us was Who is a child?. Most of us put our answers as Children are the future of a nation. After getting our answers, one of the organizers asked us why children couldnt be the present of a nation. This question set me think about the comment. Kids are not the future but the present of a nation. We need to build them up mentally, physically and personally strong so that they can fight every situation. Every mother and father, irrespective of caste or religion, wants their kids to be a potent survivor in their future life. We try to provide them with every possible resource that can help them in their developmental process.In the initial year of a childs life, the parents provide them with colors, paints, creative play items, and other creative items to groom them up properly. When kids enter the age of schooling, the worries of the parents multiplies, as schools play a vital role in the life of every one of us. Admitting the child to a good school becomes the prime issue of concern for the parents. A school is like a home away home for the students. In an average, a student spends 6 hours a day in the school, means approximately 1728 hours in a year. The school hour is the time when a childs perception of the world and the social communication skills are groomed up.
In a school, kids are exposed to new partners, new environment and altogether to a completely unexplored world. So it is very important to take the decision of choosing a school in a very serious note. Though infrastructural facilities contribute to the academic achievement of a child, but a school should not be judged on the basis of this only. The environment, the teacher-student ratio, the medium of instruction and most importantly the communication between teachers and students should also be taken into consideration.
