New Forest National Park - An Idyllic Blend Of Nature With Tourism
When you start looking at all the activities and campsites there are to choose from
when you're considering visiting Dorset and the New Forest, it's not a wonder then that this is considered one of the best holiday destinations in the UK.Many visitors want to start out by walking around in the New Forest National Park since there are many activities and activities to enjoy including museums and other things to do on these scenic trails in the un-spoilt forest surroundings.
Of course with so much open space there's no need to feel cramped as this is the perfect getaway from city life and since there are over 134 car parks located here, there is ample opportunity to get out and take a nice walk when the mood suits whether it is one off the marked trails or you fancy a bit of ad hoc hiking.
However, it's not just the natural element that the park provides when it comes to the things that there are to do and see when it comes to the New Forest and nearby Dorset. Moors Valley supplies fishing in the New Forest that can be a welcome break from the more robust activities of cycling and horseback riding that are also popular in the area, but if you feel really adventurous you could also try out the Go Ape tree top adventure trail (or should I say trial if you're not too fit). Of course there are other things that will captivate your attention on vacation while you're visiting Dorset and The New Forest and one of the more popular is the Beaulieu Motor Museum. Located in the village of Beaulieu, it was founded in 1952 by Edward John Barrington Douglas-Scott-Montagu, 3rd Baron Montagu of Beaulieu as a tribute to his father.
Visiting The New Forest Historically
There are as many different attractions here as you can think of and a sense a history is one of the biggest draws to the location. The New Forest Museum is one of those attractions that you must put on your list when you're visiting to get a full understanding of the historical influences and past residents of this incredible landscape. The museum is a great place for the kids too and there is nothing like learning about the forest culture.
