Nba Tickets - Face Of The Franchise

Struggling franchises that turn things around usually have one specific event that can be viewed as the turning point for that organization

. Usually it's the acquisition of one young player that grows into the face of the franchise. Look at how LeBron James helped turn the Cleveland Cavaliers into a title contender and created an incredible amount of demand for NBA tickets to see the team throughout the season. Here are the players under the age of 25 (as of Dec. 14, 2009) that I would most like to start an NBA franchise around.

LeBron James, Guard/Forward, Cleveland Cavaliers: I would be very surprised if anybody took a different player to headline a list like this. The real intrigue this coming summer stems from the idea that a team may be able to make this concept a reality by signing James as a free agent. Every team with enough cap space is sure to offer James a max contract. He's destined to go down as one of the best players to ever step onto an NBA court and is still only 24 years old. He's the ultimate team player as well and a marketing gem.

Chris Paul, Point Guard, New Orleans Hornets: Paul is the best point guard in the league and has the potential to go down as a top three player at his position in the history of the league. He's got a great feel for the game and makes everyone around him a significantly better player. He's versatile, a fiery competitor and has no real weakness in his game.

Kevin Durant, Small Forward, Oklahoma City Thunder: Durant looks like he's going to go down as one of the most prolific scorers of all time. His ability to score in a variety of ways makes him an incredibly unique talent. He's also becoming a good rebounder and defender, and is learning to distribute the ball better and better.Nba Tickets - Face Of The Franchise

Dwight Howard, Center, Orlando Magic: Howard is one of the most physically dominant players in the league and perhaps the history of the game. His size and athleticism allow him to overwhelm opposing centers and make him one of the league's biggest defensive forces. His offensive repertoire leaves something to be desired, though, and he hasn't shown much for signs of developing a reliable low post game. I'm just not sure how much better he is going to get.

Derrick Rose, Point Guard, Chicago Bulls: He's been experiencing somewhat of a sophomore slump, but that probably has something to do with the ankle injury he's been nursing. Rose still has a ton of potential and could develop into a top-tier point guard in a couple of years. He needs to work on his outside shot and decision-making, but he's a world class talent.

Brook Lopez, Center, New Jersey Nets: Lopez is the opposite of Dwight Howard. What he lacks in raw physical attributes, he makes up for with an advanced offensive arsenal and a good basketball IQ.

Andrew Bynum, Center, Los Angeles Lakers: If Bynum can stay healthy, he's a franchise center. I have no doubt about that, as long as he keeps his attitude positive.

Rudy Gay, Guard/Forward, Memphis Grizzlies: Gay still needs to become more consistent, but he's one of the most athletic and versatile players in the league.

Russell Westbrook, Guard, Oklahoma City Thunder: Westbrook is pretty good now, but his ceiling is extremely high. He's got the potential to be a special player.Nba Tickets - Face Of The Franchise

Anthony Randolph, Forward, Golden State Warriors: Randolph is still developing, but his physical gifts could be unparalleled in the league.

Marreese Speights, Power Forward, Philadelphia 76ers: Some people might be surprised to see Speights on the list, but I think he's on his way to becoming a perennial 20-10 guy in the mold of a more traditional power forward.

Blake Griffin, Power Forward, Los Angeles Clippers: His potential is enticing, despite the fact that he is still yet to play in an NBA game.
