This museum is one of the best local art museums. The collections are showcased in a Mediterranean-style villa that was originally built in 1916. Blanton Museum of Art (located on the University of Texas campus at 200 E. Martin Luther King Blvd.)
This is the nations largest university art museum and is well recognized throughout Austin as one of the best to visit. It features more than 17,000 pieces of artwork dating back hundreds of years. Lyndon B. Johnson Library and Museum (located on the University of Texas campus at 2313 Red River Street)

This is a ten story builing on the University of Texass campus, It includes papers, gifts of state, displays about Johnsons upbringing and even a replica of the Oval Office when he was president. Harry Ransom Humanities Research Center (located on the University of Texas campus at Guadalupe and 21st Street)
Another one of the University of Texas museums, the Harry Ransom Humanities Research Center is one of the most unique museums in all of Austin.
