Nowadays most of the RC trucks are manufactured with brushless motors. Brushless motors are more powerful, fast and durable than their counterpart brushed motors. So, if your toy truck has a brushed motor, you can always upgrade it with a brushless one. But you need to change the brushed ESC to a brushless compatible ESC as well. And remember to choose the correct size and correct power of the motor.
If you need to have fast steering response, you can change the steering servo of your truck into a high speed servo. But you should get a servo which can be properly fixed to your truck. Otherwise you may have some problems when steering the vehicle.
