Error one: apply ice immediately after burn.
High temperatures can damage the skin, so could low temperature. When you are burned, the damaged skin has lost the epidermal protection. So, you could not use ice directly ice to avoid frostbite. You can wash your wounds with slow flowing water for about 30 seconds until you do not feel painful.
Error two: apply ointment immediately after burn.
The applied ointment will coat the heat to let it continue to hurt the skin. The right way is to flush under water to cool the wound.
Error Three: The non-high-voltage electricity at home will not cause harm.
If people caught non-high-voltage electricity in the household, they will not have burn symptom and serious damage. However, if the electricity flow through important organs such as heart, lung, brain, and kidney, the result will be dangerous. For example, the current flows through the heart could easily lead to cardiac arrhythmia, cardiac arrest or death. No matter what kind of electrical injury people suffered, even if they recover after only a few seconds, they have to be immediately sent to hospital for treatment if their conscious is unclear.
Error Four: blisters cannot be broken.
If the diameter is less than two centimeters, there is no need to break it. If blister is larger than two centimeters in diameter or it locates in frequent moving places such as articulation, you can use sterile syringe needle or cotton swab to puncture it, blot up the tissue fluid, use iodine to disinfect and cover gauze. Remember not to remove the epidermis of blister as a protective layer.
Whats more, you have to prevent sunscreen when your wounds healing period. It is because the color of your scar is related with the chromatosis caused by ultraviolet irradiation.
