Ask them to show you their favourite restaurants and bars and you never know, they may know about rarely frequented beaches that you will never forget.
5 Be friendly
If locals see you trying to speak their language, they will more often than not be happy to talk with you in English if they see that you are struggling. Smile, shake their hands and be polite. You never know you might make some friends for life!
