Mgmt Tickets - Entertaining The 'kids'

," Brooklyn based MGMT has a lot of catching up to do when it comes to performances and shows. Yet the success isn't what's concerning them - the duo is simply about making great music. Still convincing fans with the release of the sophomore Congratulations, the group continues to find the biggest approval during live shows when classics from their debut are performed.The second set, released in spring 2010, was a change of pace for the top selling act and nearly turned fans against the group who had seen high notes in tunes like "Electric Feel," "Time to Pretend" and "Kids." For a recent show at the open air Greek Theater in Los Angeles, spirits lifted as the first guitar chord struck classic hits from the 2007 debut, empowering the crowd to get up on their feet. Summer tracks abound, MGMT tickets will be a great August buy from StubHub.
Fans of all genres responded instantaneously to the debut album Oracular Spectacular, so many were surprised to find the follow-up in a genre of another dimension. While trying to avoid the sophomore slump, the group turned around with something revolutionary, a total contradiction to the sound they had perfected just three years before. Nonetheless, their live performance skills have attracted fans from around the world as they continue to support the sophomore set, with global dates scheduled until the end of December.
Crowds typically don't respond to eccentric frontman Andrew VanWyngarden, who makes uncanny statements in front of sold out stadiums and arenas. So it's really impressive that fans come out and see MGMT's live shows; it's the sheer passion exuded on stage that keeps them coming back, as was the case during MGMT's headlining gig at Washington's Sasquatch! music festival. Fans responded with enthusiasm to tunes from Oracular Spectacular, particularly the radio favorite "Kids," a hit that was blatantly left out of Coachella's set.
Despite what fans might think, MGMT created an album they knew might fail, displaying strength unheard of in this musical generation. Rather that revert back to '60s psychedelic tunes they knew would sell, the outfit turned their attention to a variety previously unassociated with MGMT. As a result, their fanbase ended up growing; dedicated fans still can't get enough of dancing to "Time to Pretend" live and newcomers felt hits from Congratulations were just too good to pass up.
Despite critical and commercial review, MGMT has created a triumphant brand name. Built between two unlikely characters, the duo Ben Goldwasser and VanWyngarden met as freshman at Wesleyan University in Connecticut. Their first live shows featured synthesizers and prerecorded vocals, but by graduation and the release of 2005's Time to Pretend they had worked out the kinks. The Cantora Records debut LP allowed them to tour and gave them a record deal with Columbia Records.
Though they initially requested Prince for producer, they got Dave Fridmann instead, who helped make MGMT (formerly known as Management), one of the biggest acts in America. That debut went on to platinum status in Australia, the UK, Ireland and the U.S., while Congratulations follows in its footsteps.
