In the car, two good Swiss souls agreed to take the women to Kabul. I was able to ride in the bus that came after a long while along with the Afghan passengers. The Frenchwoman's companion went for a visit in my hotel just to show her gratitude. After she and the Swiss couple called the embassy in Kabul, it was in the hospital where the French Embassy guided her friend to undergo an immediate appendectomy. The woman with appendicitis was fine but still was shocked by the close call.
