?The internet has opened up all kinds of opportunities to make money onine and an affiliate program is one such way.
An affiliate program is a marketing practice where a business will reward an affiliate (or many affiliates) for each customer who makes a purchase resulting from the affiliate's marketing efforts. There are typically 4 core elements within the affiliate program. These are:
The Merchant (the retailer, or product owner)
The Affiliate Network (how the sales are tracked and administered)
The Affiliate (the person whose marketing efforts are aiming to sell the merchant's product)
The Customer (the person who is actually doing the buying!)

So let's look at an example. Say the Merchant creates a product, a downloadable e-book to teach dog owners how to stop their dog from chewing. The merchant will advertise their product on the affiliate network.
The Affiliate Network acts like a marketplace where affiliates can come and browse products to promote.
Once an Affiliate has chosen a product to promote, they are given a special web page link, known as an affiliate link to use in all of their marketing efforts. The affiliate will then target people online to promote the dog training product to. This is done using a number of different techniques, but in simple terms, the affiliate will typically create a website and drive relevant web traffic to it using search engine optimization (organic marketing), email marketing and paid advertising. The aim here is to get the customer to buy.
The Customer, who is the person looking for the solution for their dog chewing problem, will visit the affiliate's site and if they make a purchase of the product via the special affiliate link, the affiliate receives up to 75% of the sale. The affiliate network stores how many sales an affiliate has made and compensates him/her accordingly with the commissions due, usually monthly.

Yes, yes and yes! Absolutely anyone can become an affiliate marketer. You don't need to be computer whizz or have qualifications to succeed.
