Magic Tricks Done With Cards, This Mind Reading Trick Is Easy Enough For A Child To Do.
"Forcing a card" is the name of a famous magic card trick and what we have done is made a version of this trick
. It is a favourite of magicians probably because it is so amazing to witness yet so easy to perform. This trick is so simple a child can do it and be very convincing.Artillery:
You will need to have any sized deck of cards and nothing else.
To begin:
For starters choose a single card and that will be the one you want your audience to choose. They will think the choice is theirs to make and that they have randomly chosen a card but it will be the one you decided to use. It is important to remember which card you choose. That is really the only skill involved in this trick. In reality remembering which card is chose earlier is the hardest part of the trick too. Place your chosen card on the top of the deck.
This is the first step:
Now gather with some people and ask someone to choose a number from five to ten. It wont matter what their number of choice was. It can be five, six, seven, eight, nine or ten. Be sure the cards are facing down. So now they tell you their choice and you answer with, "Please count backwards from ten through the deck. You can do it like this." After you tell them this you take the deck of cards and deal them into a pile beginning your count with the number they chose. For example if they chose the number eight then the first card you put on the table face down will be placed there while you proclaimed eight. Then you would lay the next cards down one at a time counting to ten saying, "eight, nine, ten." The card you chose as your forced card' is the one that you had placed on the top of the deck and it is now the first card in the pile on the table.
Now you pick up the stack of cards you counted out and put them back on the top of your deck of cards keeping them face down. Get the person who chose a card in the beginning to sift through the cards while counting to ten. The cards will be laid out by them. Then tell them that the tenth card is theirs and they should take it but don't show you the card. You are not supposed to see it but they are all free to see what it is.
The Big Finale:
Let them see that you are concentrating very hard on thinking of their card and you will let them know what it is. When you are done pretending you have psychic powers you turn to them and proclaim, "the card you have is a" The one you chose as a forced card' is the card they have chosen and the one on top of the deck. "You have in your hands the Ace of Diamonds", is what you would say if the Ace of Diamonds was the forced card' that you chose. Obviously this card is the one they are holding. They have no idea the card they choose was the one you made them choose. It will amaze them.
