"The Money is in the List". In this case we are talking about the list of prospects that you are going to present your MLM opportunity to. Obviously, you can make more money with a bigger list. The reason that I have had success with MLM and Internet Marketing is because I spent my time and energy building my contact list. All things being equal, the MLM business owner with the bigger list will have more opportunities to present their business and therefore be able to build a bigger business. This will then translate into a larger commission cheque.
While size is important, you also need to build a quality list. Your prospect list needs to be filled with people that you are in contact with on a regular basis, who know who you are and like to communicate with you. The best way to ensure that you do this is to build your list online. Not only does this allow you to build a much larger list than you could using offline methods but it allows you to use some powerful, automated online tools such as autoresponders to assist with your list building. Basically an autoresponder sends regular, automated messages to your contact list. Many people use autoresponders to spam their list with heavy handed sales messages and then get confused when their list keeps shrinking.
The purpose of the autoresponder is not to sell your prospects on your MLM business. The purpose of your autoresponder is to offer useful information to your prospect list. This includes things like MLM training tips and tools that will help them build their business. You want to build a relationship and a rapport with them by ensuring that every interaction they have with you provides them with some value. It is essential that your autoresponder messages be written properly. If you don't know how to do this yourself, it's critical that you find a good MLM Training Course that can provide some pre-written messages or teach you how to do it.
Many people have built successfully MLM businesses using warm market techniques. They are successful because while they do not have a big list of contacts they likely have a personal relationship with everyone on their list. If you are building your list online, there is no reason why you can't build strong personal relationships with your prospects. Given the tools available online, such as social networking sites, you can forge just as strong a relationship as you can offline. You can give a new member access to things like MLM Training Videos and Audio presentations with much greater efficiency than trying to mail out DVDs or get people together in a room.
