Columbus Monument With a height of 60meters and a weight of 205 tons, the Monument a Cristfor Colom stands proudly at the Plaa del Portal de la Pau. Originally built for the World Exhibition in the year 1888, it has an iron column totally covered with a variety of allegorical figures. You will find around the base a string of reliefs portraying the various important phases in the life of Columbus and his voyages of discovery. A 26ft high statue of Columbus pointing out to the sea adorns the top of the column. You can climb up the structure in an elevator and have a look at the beautiful views of the port and the city.

Anella Olimpica One of the main Barcelona tourist attractions is surely the 'Olympic Ring' in Montjuc this was one of the main sites where games were played during the 1992 Olympics.
