Jolie and Depp's The Tourist, a Big Disappointment
It is agreeable that Angelina Jolie and the pack are considered royalties. In fact being in newspapers and tabloids the whole year round seems a bit too much, but then that is how those newspapers and tabloids and magazines sell. No wonder, the family's latest Parisian vacation with pictures of Jolie wearing her trademark designer diaper bags and the children shopping in a small boutique shops went viral.
But then everyone is wondering how the power of mighty Jolie, the pack and Depp seems didn't work out? The actress opposite Johnny Depp co starred in the latest movie The Tourist who opened in theaters last Dec 10 was poorly received by movie goers.
The Tourist is a remake of 2005 French film Anthony Zimmer. The movie was shot in Europe. It was reported that the movie's producer Graham King had a headache while the shooting was on going because of the paparazzi who kept on following the stars wherever they go. It was hard to shoot a romantic and intimate scene when reverberating voices of fans and paparazzi keep on interrupting, said Henckel von Donnersmarck the movie director. Jolie took time out of her busy filming schedule to share some quality moments with their six kids look adorable. Brad Pitt who loves designer diaper bags for dad was also spotted.
Production of The Tourist costs more than $100 million. During it's opening weekend it grossed a pathetic $17 million dollars, and landed second to The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader who raked $25 million. Seems that the romantic Europe vistas particularly the romantic city of Venice was not a big help. Other critics added that the lack of chemistry between Jolie and Depp was attributed to movie's revenue outcome.
Jolie need not to be bothered, as long as she is doing well in motherhood scene. Their frequent family vacation getaway showing the couple's trendsetting designer diaper bags parenting style just proved the marital bliss between Jolie and Pitt.
